F R E D A Forest Resource Environment Development and Conservation Association

FREDA was founded by retired forest officials in 1995 with a principle of non-political, non-profit and non-government organization. FREDA has been constituted mainly to participate and promote in building a green, pleasant, modernized and fully developed new State. In the initial stage, all of the founders worked voluntarily without any salary and facility in the fields of environmental conservation, reforestation, wildlife protection and community development.

Since 2008, due to the occurrence of natural disasters frequently in Myanmar, FREDA is also participating in the emergency relief programme, rehabilitation and community development activities under the context of disaster risk reduction and climate change.

The concerted effort of FREDA staff, full cooperation of local authorities and departments concerned, the generous funding of International and local NOGs, the active participation of the community rendered FREDA success in each and every conservation and development activity implemented in Myanmar. FREDA is heartily grateful to all those for their kind support and is anxious to continue sincere cooperation among us in future as well.
